There are so many revanants, holy crap. You log on, make one and it pops you into LA surrounded by revanants--kinda amusing.
The skill animations are AMAZING, ohmygosh. Haven't done a whole lot but they give you a lot of things so you can try out weapons and pick stats etc.

omg, Ventari stance is amazing. I've been running around LA flinging the tablet all over the place. Dwarven stance is fun too, I'm meh on demon--but the conditions for demon would be pretty sweet.

Re: BETA WEEKENDDDDDD
Ooof. Alright, lets see...
So the revenant is a weird mix of melee combat and magic. Honestly, I kinda compare them to guardians when it comes to a similar class.
So the revenant can pull power from different legendary heroes(?) through the mists and gain their power. So, for example, they can pull on the power of Ventari the Centaur and be able to have crazy healing abilities. When the rev activates one of these, their skills change (6-0) rather than their weapon attacks. All the weapon attacks remain the same regardless of what person they're channeling--which is nice, pretty simple. As well, (at least for now?) the skills are set, there's no options for variety. For example, with Ventari there is only one heal skill option and one elite skill option--there are 3 other skills for the other 3 skill buttons... So not much variety there.
Weapon wise, you can tell certain weapons work best with certain "heroes". Lets stick with Ventari as an example, Ventari is very healing based with a tablet you summon (And randomly grunts and says stuff when you make it move) so the best weapon for using Ventari is staff. While for another like the Demon... Mace/Axe is probably best for conditions.
The revenant cannot weapon swap, but they can "hero" swap between two. Yeah, only two. So you need to select what two heroes you want to use. Some of them work better together just based off of the skills they give you (like Dwarf dude and Ventari are pretty pimp together with boons and healing) they're easy to set up traits for flipping between the two.
So, in short. The revenant is basically this dude/tte who went nuts in the mists and now lets the spirits of legendary fighters possess them to gain their badass powers and kick butt.
And their animations are AMAZING, UGH. It's fun just firing everything off and looking at it.
Hobbit and I played a bit last night... Just a heads up--You don't have underwater skills/weapons so... ya'know, don't pick a fight underwater because you literally can do nothing, haha.
